An Iskan is an official document confirming that a building has been built in accordance with Turkish building regulations, is safe to operate, and meets all legal requirements.

What is Iskan and why is it needed?
Legality of construction – confirms that the facility was built according to the approved project.
✅ Safety – ensures that the building meets the standards of earthquake resistance, fire safety and sanitation.
The possibility of connecting communications – without an Iskan, it is impossible to arrange electricity, water and gas for the facility.
Required for a residence permit and citizenship – when buying a property starting from $200,000, an Iscan is required to obtain a residence permit.

How and who gets Iskan?
1️⃣ The construction company submits an application to the municipality after the completion of the work.
2. An inspection is underway – inspectors assess the compliance of the building with the design documentation.
3️⃣ A certificate is issued if the object has passed all the checks.

Types of Iskan
✔ Individual (Kat Iskan) – for private houses and villas.
✔ Common (Toplu Iskan) – for apartment complexes.
